I can finally showcase these cuties!!!

These were so fun to see come together, and despite my lack of sewing enthusiasm, I absolutely will be making more (i may or may not have already started making more).

The plan for the project was pretty simple, sketches where mainly to have a vague plan of the faces and clothes, and to try and help me keep the bases as uniform as i could.

I chose a smoother, simpler sculpt for the heads, i found the more i overcomplicated and ‘real’ i made the doll faces in the past, the lumpier the sculpt became and subsequently, the muddier the paint job ended up being.

When it came to the bodies i really needed to keep them as simple as possible, for my own sanity. I opted to stick to fabric bodies with wire armatures and while I absolutely think i improved the overall shape and structure, i think the stuffing process needs improving, some ended up being a lot squishier than others. I think in future ill try experimenting with wrapping the wire with something, then sewing the fabric straight onto the padded bodies, either that or having the finished body as just yarn.

Overall, i do really love how these turned out, i hope everyone likes their little counterparts, i cant wait to do more!
