New projects

Starting strong with a bit of sculpting fun! I designed a cute pen holder inspired by alice in wonderland, featuring a fake drippy candle, an oversized spool of thread, a tea cup and mushrooms.

I mainly wanted to make this because i desperately wanted to work with a big ol slab of clay, i did make a rough design but i strayed from it very quickly, i love the ideas i ended up going with and am very excited to begin the painting process.

Alas…. Firstly ill need to tackle fixing my silly mistake, i failed to properly attach the different pieces together with hatching and slip, i knew as i was making it that i was being lazy. But not to worry.

Ive also decided to update an old character look, my bog witch is getting some upgrades!

I would love to take her to ren faire at some point, i cannot do this barefoot so first on the task list was shoes

I found these pumps i previously bought for a cosplay i never got around to completing, i painted them up in browns and greens, i want them to look mossy and leafy. This is just the base so im not too bothered if they look a little boring at the moment, i plan on adding lots of embellishments.

Ive since added ribbons to wrap around my feet and ankles and tie at the back.

I plan on customising these two canvas pumps to give them a new life too, as some easy side projects.

I also plan on customising a corset for the final look, I’m inspired by tree bark, moss and polypore mushrooms. I think I’ll be experimenting with adding felted elements, to keep the corset light.

Lastly, ive begun a very simple extra project. I have a tendency when i finish painting something, to smush the remaining paint around my palette and create designs, i mostly do this to distribute the paint as evenly as i can so it builds up and i can later peel it off to add to my junk journal. But this time i took a piece of paper, and pressed the paint palette onto it, after dampening, to make sure it gets into all the sections. I plan on creating illustrations on top of them, possibly turning them into landscapes.

I’m still not sure if i want to use these for journaling or if I’m just going to collect them in their own book, ill figure that out later.
